Living in a tiny house | SWR Room Tour

Since mid2020, Gudrun has been living in her Tiny House in Waldbronn, which was built according to her wishes. 34 years of planning went into the mini house. Every corner, every space should be used optimally and fit the individual needs. For all questions Gudrun always found support at the association Tiny Houses für Karlsruhe e.V..

Gudrun's Tiny House was built as ecologically as possible, from local woods, and the insulation is made from sheep's wool. The rounded front of the house is particularly striking. The kitchen is located in the semicircle. Because of sustainability, Gudrun has paid attention to highquality workmanship and European manufacturing for all appliances.
Behind the living and dining area is the bathroom with rainwater shower and separating toilet. There is no second level in Gudrun's Tiny House. At 60, she feels too old for that. Accessible from the outside is a small technical room where the gas boiler, gas bottles and the water meter are located.

Living in a Tiny House means minimalism. So before moving into the Tiny House, Gudrun also had to reduce all her belongings, had to keep asking herself what she really needed. Before, she lived in 4 ½ rooms, now on 20 m². Books, furniture, dishes, she found buyers for everything, she didn't have to throw anything away. So here, too, the focus was on sustainability.

A film by Annette Dany (author), Sven Rupprecht (sound) and Johannes Bock (camera / editing).
