DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS AT HOME, I am what you call a PROFESSIONAL JACKASS!! Seriously though, I actually just placed my phone and tripod right outside my front door, so I could "safely" check on it every now and then. But, hanging out the front door during a storm like this, even for a few seconds, can srill be pretty dangerous, so I don't recommend doing it.. At least not too often lol..
