Why I charged $15000 to move these rocks (part 1)

How I charged $15,000 to move these rocks (part 1). Safe to say you guys watching my videos have been spoiled this year with awesome content. I'm not sure if it's the universe challenging us, or our reach just being more known and getting more calls. But it seems every month we outdo ourselves in terms of rotator work with some crazy custom jobs. This one, I feel, takes the cake.

We were recommended by a local crane company (Champion Crane) for this custom job to relocate huge rocks behind a Ventura Beach home. Of course, we've lifted heavier and this is definitely not a freeway wreck. What makes this so hard then? First and foremost, the working area. No power lines, but it was a 15 minute ordeal alone just to back down this block and into this spot between two multimillion dollar beach homes. Alex didn't even have inches to spare in getting Big Flipper, our 75ton rotator, into position.

As if that wasn't hard enough, the next obstacle was outriggers. As you'll see, Alex had no rear outrigger support on the lifting side, and the front outrigger was barely out. This is incredibly risky and dangerous since the outriggers are what give you support and stability when lifting off the back. Not just the back, but the back corner, where a Miller rotator is the weakest. Ideally you want to lift 90 degrees off the side, or straight back.

As if these two obstacles weren't enough, we had the weight of these huge rocks grossly undersold. The job description was several "2,000lb6,000lb" rocks, with the heaviest possibly being 8 or 9 thousand pounds. The heaviest rock was double this alone! This job really pushed Alex and Big Flipper to the limits and it all worked out in the end.

For those in the industry or just fans in general, what did you guys think of this job? Were you able to see the extreme difficulty on this one? And if you REALLY want to support your favorite tow channel, become a member here:    / @pepestowingservice
