People who live as nomads, earn their living from animal husbandry, and live in tents they set up in plains, mountains or plateaus depending on the season are called Yörük. Its roots come from the Oghuz Turks who migrated from Central Asia to Anatolia in the 11th century. Today, they live densely in Rumelia and Anatolia.
The word Yörük means "brave, combative, wellwalked, strongfooted". Today, the word Yörük continues to be used for all communities that live a nomadic life.
In this documentary, we follow the life of the Karataş family, who continues their life as Yörük.
