Karen Lee made an unconventional choice to become a female prison warden 20 years ago and played a pivotal role in steering traditional prisons in the direction of community corrections and rehabilitation. The example she set continues to inspire other female Captains of Lives such as Koh Zhi Mian, a superintendent in the Changi Prison Complex.
