They were particularly known for their sapphire mines, but the conflict in Kashmir in the 1990s plunged this unique country into oblivion, whose landscapes earned it the nickname "Switzerland of the Himalayas". Rigzen Tsewang lives in Zanskar.
He decided to go to Paldar via the formidable Omasila pass, at an altitude of 5,400m. In doing so, he takes us to discover these exceptionally preserved villages to which Hinduism gives a particular and colorful character, especially during the festival which celebrates the start of the harvest.
