We recently invited all members of the WBUR community to a special program celebrating the launch and naming of The Bob Oakes Legacy Circle.

Bob Oakes, journalist and former host of WBUR's Morning Edition for over three decades, discussed the future of journalism — including the changes he's seen throughout his career — with good friend and former colleague Robin Young, host of WBUR and NPR's Here & Now.

Bob Oakes was a senior correspondent in the WBUR newsroom, a role he took on in 2021 after nearly three decades hosting WBUR's Morning Edition. He is one of the most wellknown and respected news people in New England, with a long career in radio broadcasting, including 10 years with Boston's allnews commercial radio station WEEI and coverage of national issues for the CBS Radio Network.
