On the sixth day, I took the train to Tofukuji Temple and from there walked around the temples around Kyoto Station.

Tofukuji has beautiful bridges and plants.
I like the garden, too, with its calm atmosphere!
It looks even better if you come during the fall foliage.

I can't show you the inside of Sanjusangendo because photography is not allowed, but the masterpieces of the ancient Buddhist masters are truly breathtaking.
The first time I read the explanation and looked at them in detail, and the second time I looked at them from a distance.

I had always wanted to visit the fivestory pagoda of Toji Temple someday since I could see it from the train.
It was a great honor to finally go.
The fivestory pagoda is nice, but the strange group of Buddhist statues inside was very interesting.

6日目は東福寺まで電車で行き、そこから徒歩で京都駅周辺のお寺を周りました。

東福寺は橋と植物がとてもきれいで、庭も落ち着いた雰囲気で好きです。
紅葉の頃に来ると、もっと良さそうですね。

三十三間堂は中が撮影禁止なので見せられませんが、古の仏師の傑作の数々はまさに圧巻です。
最初は説明を読んで細部までしっかり見て、二周目は遠目から眺めました。

東寺の五重の塔は電車から見えていたので、ずっといつか行ってみたいと思っていました。
ようやく行けて感無量です。
五重の塔もいいのですが、中の奇妙な仏像群がとても面白かったですね。
