Arnis, the ancient Filipino martial art, took center stage in this coming of age drama wherein a young boy perfected his skills and his idol rediscovered what it takes to be a man. Lito Lapid was perfectly cast as the arnis champion who now detested the art. Juan Carlos Bonnin, on the other hand, was the aspirant who looked up to him. This film contained many thrilling scenes of battles with the arnis, a powerful stick made up of mahogany or the Kamagong.
