A brief overview on today's clean Jet Wash Drives was Driveway and Patio Pressure Cleaning and soft washing in New Malden, London. We had to clean a and give a bit of TLC to a driveway that had not been cleaned in a number of years. it was the same for the patio that was dark and aged and full of lichen.

We started with the patio giving it a quick sweep then applied the Sodium Hypochlorite at 1 part SH to 3 parts water and 30/50 oz of a surfactant or washing up liquid to help it stick to the surface better and enable the SH. I like to work the solution in with a brush and let it rest and do its work you will see the change and know when to rinse off and then pressure wash any remaining dirt and lichens away. sometimes you do have to repeat the process but in this case, it was fine.

At the front, we used a turbo nozzle as itis more effective at getting weeds out (but more messy) once completed we rinsed down, let it dry and resanded the area.

The liquid chlorine solution will also kill weeds and grass and stop new ones germinating for a while. Of course it may also kill off other plants one doesn't want killed like flowers, so take care with where the liquid goes. It will also bleach your clothes so wear old ones and rubber boots (wellies). I would recommend keeping pets off the treated ground for a few days. This solution is what swimming pool owners use to give a big increase in chlorine content of a swimming pool, in what they call shock treatment. The level of chlorine released by the solution goes down over time and eventually drops to zero and it becomes harmless. People swim in it after all!
