In 2011 at the age of 31, despite having barely walked more than three miles at a time before in her life due to EhlersDanlos syndrome, Lara Bloom decided to try and become the first person with EDS to walk the London Marathon. The documentary follows Lara’s journey and features interviews with medical professionals, families with EDS and individuals who have suffered from misdiagnosis.

The EhlersDanlos syndromes are a group of connective tissue disorders that can be inherited and are varied both in how affect the body and in their genetic causes. They are generally characterised by joint hypermobility (joints that stretch further than normal), skin hyperextensibility (skin that can be stretched further than normal), and tissue fragility. Although widely unknown, EDS affects many families and individuals around the world.

A moving, informative documentary explaining the issues and struggles of those with all types of the EhlersDanlos syndromes and related disorders.

NOTE This documentary was made before the 2017 Criteria was published and therefore not all the EDS information in there is up to date.
