This is the story behind Weezer's Green album. After Pinkerton (the band's followup to their debut Blue album and Buddy Holly) failed to reach the heights of it's predecessor, frontman Rivers Cuomo vowed to do whatever it took to rebuild the band better than ever. This process would take 5 years of painstaking work, with many false starts along the way. But when Weezer returned with Island in the Sun and Hash Pipe in 2001, all expectations were surpassed. But was it worth the sacrifice?
