Join me on a 3day road trip to Melaka, Malaysia. We travel 3 hours south of Kuala Lumpur to the town synonymous with the ‘Malacca Straight' Melaka. It is a historically seafaring trade city, fought over by the Portuguese, Dutch, British, and Japanese before returning to Malaysian hands in the 1950's.
I hit the beach and discovered some fantastic food, including unforgettable satay skewers, Chinese crab, and the cheapest Mookata (Thai barbeque) I’ve ever seen. We witness a BEAR encounter… a smoking frog (?) and cows on the road as I explore what’s probably the most diverse city in Malaysia (or even South East Asia!)
Of course, I had to check out the museums and markets, including Jonker Walk, before scaling the tower of Menara Taming Sari for a better view of the Melaka cityscape. I grabbed a relaxing beer by the river to quench the Malaysian humidity and capped the trip off with a ride on a Pikachu tricycle
