Is Meteor Crater Worth Visiting? Things to Do Winslow, Arizona

We were camping at Homolovi State Park in Winslow, Arizona, and took a short trip to visit Meteor Crater Natural Landmark and Barringer Space Museum. It was convenient to order our tickets online and in doing so, we saved a couple bucks on each admission A bonus!

There is so much to learn about here! Over 50,000 years ago a meteor 150' wide and weighing several hundred thousand pounds slammed into the earth with a force 150x greater than an atomic bomb! This impact created a giant bowlshaped crater known as Meteor Crater.

We learned all about this event through the museum movies and exhibits, along with the guided tour. We took pictures next to the Apollo 11 space capsule, a spaceman, and even an alien! There is even an RV park there, Meteor Crater RV Park.

Meteor Crater is truly an amazing sight to see. In our opinion, yes, Meteor Crater is worth visiting. If you are in the Winslow, Arizona area, check it out!
