Patriarchy and class, race, caste oppression are all related to each other, in most cases, they reinforce each other and women have to simultaneously challenge the systems of patriarchy, class, race, and caste domination. Most women's organizations are working on issues related to poverty and economic exploitation on the one hand and they are working for income generation, equal pay for equal wages, equal share in property, land rights for women, women's ownership of homesteads, and common lands. At the same time, they are challenging patriarchy in different ways – fights against dowry, rape, wife battering, sati, female feticide, pornography, indecent portrayal of women in the media, etc.
