In this episode of The Abandoned Places we visit Chernobyl, which became the core of a catastrophe. Starting from the night of the explosion, our story dates back to this day. By driving through the ruined areas, we sought to comprehend what happened that day and the following years. Still full of signs of that day were the leisure areas, hospitals and homes left over from the city. Currently, this journey was taken into the future, not the past. Because the effects of what happened in Chernobyl would continue for centuries.

We embark on a journey in this episode of the Abandoned Places that stretches back to the most horrific years in the aftermath of the 1950s World War. We witness the arrival of warplanes that gave rise to victories, after listening to the tale of the Buzludzha monument established in the Bulgarian mountains. In order to understand the ways in which contact was given in those years, we climbed the mountains of Italy and visited Nato bases, and then to the devil mountain of Berlin and stop by the military base built with rubble. We reach the final stop of the magnificent ships at the end of the battle, Landevennec Bay in western France.

We stop by a village of farmers founded in Italy. Our journey ends with a visit to the Ballhaus Riviera, which is situated on the banks of the river Dahme and, with all its beauty, still cherishes its memories.
