I Restore an Old Bench Vice or Vise, as a gift for my Grandson. This is not a full restoration as my main purpose was to clean the vice up so it looked as good as it could and lubricate the vice to make it very easy to wind the vice in and out as it was for my young grandson.
After a bit of time, I managed to get the vice jaws off the screws were very locked in and tight, and I could then see that at some stage in the past two of the bolts must have broken or been damaged, and new holes were drilled next to where the old ones were, the jaws were very old and I decided to make a new set and drill the holes to match the holes in the vice.

This workbench vice is small (2 inches or 50mm) and will only be used as a beginner's vice for my grandson, I feel it will now do that job nicely.

I enjoyed this little project, and my grandson loves his new bench vice, I hope you found something of use in my video or at least found it entertaining.
