A selftie bow tie looks much better than a pretied bow tie because it shows that extra hint of effort. If you can tie your shoes, you can tie a bow tie; it’s that simple.

Step 1 (2:27): Place the bow tie band as close to the collar band as possible
Step 2 (3:18): Adjust one side to be 2 inches longer than the other
Step 3 (3:30): Loop into a single knot
Step 4 (3:38): Fold the short end in half (forming the front of the bow tie)
Step 5 (3:47): Pull the long end over the front and pinch the halves together
Step 4 (4:18): Fold the draping blade in half and pull through the back gap
Step 6 (4:35): Adjust as needed to get perfect
