Blue Eyes Bow Ties

Here's how to tie a bow tie. Full tutorial on how to tie a bow tie here https://www.blueeyesbowties.com/pages.... Brief instructions are below:

1. Length
Too short and you won't be able to tie it. For me, I like the tips of the bow tie to be around the fourth button down (when your bow tie is around your neck and straightened up so the two ends are level).

If, when you've tied the bow tie, you think the it is too wide, shorten the length.

2. The first knot
Left over right and back under to tie the first knot.
Make sure it's as tight as you want it now because you can't adjust that later

3. Getting the bow tie shape
Put your index finger behind the widest part of the piece handing down. Bring it up to your neck folding the piece in half at the middle. This forms a kind of 2d bow tie. Hold it to your neck with your thumb slightly sticking out of the loop side.

Now bring over the piece from your shoulder and place it over the narrowest part (the middle).

4. The second knot
This is where you actually start to tie the bow tie. You've formed the first part and are holding that up to your neck with your thumb slightly sticking out of the loop. Now, with the piece you've got hanging down bring it around behind the loop, find your thumb and push against it so that you push the fabric through the hole your thumb was in.

Pull the fabric through on the other side about level with the flap already formed on the front. Push your finger through the new loop you've now created to neaten it up.

It might not look finished yet, there's a final step for that

5. Adjustments
Pull the loop on both sides gently to tighten the knot of the bow tie. You can tighten that know further by pulling on the rear of the right hand loop and the front of the left hand loop (if that doesn't work try the opposite). If you like a bigger knot, don't tighter so much. If you like a really small knot, tighten hard.

That's it! You now know how to tie a bow tie. Don't forget you can make it exactly how you want wider, narrower, small tight knot, big knot. You can push it forward to stand out or flatten it for a more traditional look. Pull on the loops of the bow tie in opposite directions (horizontal and vertical) to make it more quirky and unique.
