My master bathroom toilet fill valve has been having some issues lately. Normally, I would fix or replace the fill valve, but the toilet is also 30 years old and uses a 3.5 gallon tank with a water use of around 3 gallons per flush. That amount of water really starts to add up throughout the month and over the year. I decided to just replace the toilet entirely with a newer one that only uses 1.25 gallons of water per flush. It comes with a brand new fill valve and a more comfortable toilet seat height. This is a relatively easy project to do that does not require any expensive or special tools. Just make sure you buy a new toilet that will fit in the space and decide between using a new wax seal or rubber seal.
