Preventive maintenance will ensure your Corvette's engine oil stays where it belongs, and that is INSIDE the motor.

One easy way to make sure your car is oiltight is to periodically visually check the valve cover bolts.

If they are loose, the first clue will be the grimy dirt collected around the bolt head. If you notice this, you want to make sure the valve cover bolts are snug to keep this from getting worse.
