How to paint fur in acrylics | Painting a Cockerpoo/Poodle curly fur

In this tutorial I'll share some top tips for painting fur in acrylics. Painting curly fur requires a mixture of blending and softening techniques to make the fur look softer. There are some key process to use throughout the painting process to ensure that depth and realism is achieved in our acrylic paintings. Painting realistic fur very much relies on the layering process. Through the use of glazes and detailed layers and by studying the contrast at each stage we can create a highly photo realistic painting.

Materials used:
8" x 8" canvas board
Liquitex basics paint. I did use two colours of the Winsor & Newton paint but that was because I was unable to get the Liquitex Basics in those colours at the time.
