How to Make Leather Rings EASY. Leather ring making start to finish. Pattern making and how to hand cut your leather rings and put unique designs on them. It really does not take a lot of leather working tools to get started. Bruce Cheaney Leathercraft.
Leather working tools I use are; Leather craftsman knife with curved blade, C.S. Osborne scratch awl and compass, 7iron rubber cutting matte plus a few more tools you will see in the video.
Leather tooling and carving tools are Barry King swivel knife and for beveling leather I use Craftools made by Tandy.
Leather for making your leather rings should be firm vegetable tanned leather 4 to 5 ounce or 5 to 6 ounce this will help the ring maintain it's shape.
A few resources for vegetable tanned leather are Springfield Leather Company, Montana Leather Company and Maverick Leather Company.
