NOTE: Making homemade biodiesel here in italy is illegal. Using it with autotraction on national soil or selling it is illegal as it is evasion.
Inquire about each state's current law.

In this case I managed to get 20 liters of oil from my neighbors who I already warned more than a year and a half ago and every week I give them a bottle of used oil which must never be thrown into the sewer pipes, in fact the oil if the highly polluting rivers end even if you would not think because it is of biological origin but in reality it can be really harmful to the environment

This oil cannot be placed right now inside the tank of our car mainly because it still contains food crumbs inside and above all because diesel is still too viscous to be placed inside the combustion chamber of a engine must pass through the injectors which we can imagine as small very very minute sprays which would risk clogging if too viscous fluid were to pass we must therefore remove the substances which are not viscous from this vegetable oil such as glycerin and soap

To proceed in this sense we can use two chemical elements in this case I am talking about methyl alcohol which is also sold by agricultural consortia it is essential to buy one with an excellent percentage of purity we are talking about 99% of the price whether we take methyl alcohol or not lower surely the chemical reaction would not take place in an efficient way we will simply go get some soaps

It is essential to mix the second chemical element with alcohol in this case I am talking about caustic soda and as you can see in the video it is do Bleak or combine caustic soda with alcohol and never vice versa otherwise a sudden chemical reaction could arise and the increase of temperatures could break the c
Now that everything is ready we just have to pour this methyl alcohol and caustic soda inside the vegetable oil to mix the oil then I used compressed air the bubbles coming from the bottom keep all the elements mixed stirring more than four hours

After these hours we can see with our own eyes that a reaction is coming in fact it shows a much more milky color and we just have to wait

In this case I made a small imperfection I was used to doing this procedure in the summer but I would say that here it is really cold it is absolutely necessary to bring the oil to temperature in fact we have to make it more fluid using a heater I leave you with the link a heater that in my opinion it could work in the best way and we have to bring the oil to a temperature between 50 and 65° once this temperature is reached the reaction can proceed in a more homogeneous way and we therefore leave the mixture still for about a day and a half

After this time we will find on the bottom of the container the elements that made biodiesel too viscous such as soap and Glycerin on the bottom while in the upper part we find a perfectly fluid biodiesel

Video for illustrative purposes only, do not replicate what you see in brackets, there is also a step missing to avoid myself
We can therefore wait for other days so that any residue of methyl alcohol that has not managed to settle together with the glycerin and soap can evaporate away by waiting for this time. The result will be that all the contaminating elements such as glycerin

I carried out mere simulations for scenic needs

If we put 2 l of methyl alcohol inside our container we should find 2 l between glycerin and soap

In any case I want to clarify not to repeat my actions at all, this tutorial is for informational purposes only and to be replicated by professionals in the sector who know exactly how to handle and manage the whole chemical and legal situation!
Video for illustrative purposes only to avoid legal problems I recorded this video abroad.
I omitted a step to avoid reporting problems
