If you guys follow me on Instagram, you know I love to making pies! So I wanted to show you how to make a decorative pie crust using a few simple steps. This pie crust has a lovely lattice that is quick to make, and is then finished off with little flowers! Follow these steps and you'll have a decorative pie crust in no time at all.

The recipe for my pie dough is:

255g Unsalted Butter
545g Plain Flour
50g Sugar
50g Vegetable Shortening
Pinch Salt
100ml Ice Water

1. Add the flour, butter, salt and shortening to a food mixer, and mix on low speed until you reach a breadcrumb consistency with a few lumps of butter that look like the size of peas.

2. Once at the ‘pea’ stage, slowly add the water until the dough starts to pull together into clumps but isn’t in one big ball. Tip it out onto a work surface, split the dough in three, wrap in cling film and chill in the fridge for a few hours or overnight.
