Today I want to show you an exercise that you can do right in your livingroom or bedroom, to improve your balance.

Often times in my practice, and in the health world in general, a common issue I see with patients is imbalance. You might be unable to perform certain exercises because as soon as you try to balance, your body starts to move and that prevents you from doing it correctly or you may fear that you might fall over. Maybe you feel as though the room is spinning, or you teeter or fall as you begin to walk.

Balance is a complex process controlled in many areas of your body, with input from your eyes, muscles, and joints and then all that information gets processed in your brain I generally place patients with a balance problem into 2 categories: one that have a primary problem of the vestibular system and those that have a primary problem of the proprioceptive system.

The balance issues I am going to address in this video will be that of a weak or poorly functioning proprioceptive system.
