We had to shave Leo once because he was matted. Ever since then, we make sure that he is well brushed so that he doesn’t have to be shaved when we take him to the groomer.
Groomers recommend grooming a doodle every 1~2 months but I like Leo’s long hair so I try to take him every 4 months and manage it at home in between sessions.
