Dogs do not usually feel comfortable wearing boots, and for obvious reasons.

But, it’s actually really easy to get them comfortable wearing them and to stop kicking their legs around trying to get them off.

Before we get started, you’re going to need your dog booties, treats, and patience! First, drop the boots in front of your dog let your dog sniff around the boots and get comfortable to just the sight of them before even trying to put them on. Give your dog a couple of treats during this to create a positive association.

Next, put a single boot on and then give your dog some treats while encouraging them to walk around inside with the one boot. As they grow more comfortable, add another boot, repeat the process, and keep going until all four boots are on. Like I said before, you need patience for this process! The good thing is, this process will be very cute and funny to watch your dog start dancing.

Now, let your dog prance around inside for a bit while still encouraging them with treats and creating positive association with the boots.

Finally, take your dog on a walk outside with the boots! Start slow, meaning walk slowly, because your dog will most likely need some time to adjust to walking with shoes. As you make your way to your usual walking pace, your dog will get more and more comfortable and finally, you have a dog comfortable with shoes!

Good luck to you and your dog, and always remember to protect your dog’s paws when the ground is too snowy or too hot, and don’t forget to like and subscribe to our channel — bye!
