How to Edge Grass Along A Sidewalk or Walkway Quickly and Cheaply

Toms Home Improvement Videos

You don't need a $300 gaspowered edger to create a clean and even sidewalk edge. You can quickly do it by hand with a few cheap tools.

One great option is the Ames Sawtool Edger: https://amzn.to/2ZFTzZv
(affiliate link, no cost to you, see below!)

All you need is a flat edged shovel, a broom and maybe a halfmoon or sod cutting shovel to give your walkways and cement paths and professional looking edged lawn.

First, you'll want to cut through the grass using a bladed edger (like the Ames one listed above) or a sharp shovel.

Next, you'll need to remove the excess soil and grass with a shovel (a square flat shovel works best in this case) and then use a broom (or even a power washer) to clean up the last bits of grass, soil and sod.

It doesn't take very long but it does take a little bit of hard work depending on how long of a pavement you have to edge.
