Caring for a senior dog can be split into 3 sections:
1 How to keep an old dog as healthy as possible
2 How to keep senior dogs pain free
3 How to maintain interaction and mental agility

With any care strategy for a senior dog, quality of life should be at the very forefront of our minds and the driving force behind the decisions we make for our geriatric pet. A little bit of forethought and an awareness of what to look out for that might indicate your family member is starting to struggle with the effects of aging can go a long way to ensuring their senior years are happy and as healthy as possible.
