In this video I show you how to build your own floating picture frame for a canvas painting! All for less than $30 worth of material from your local hardware store. Really easy method if you know how to use a drill, any saw, and how to hang a picture!

I received a quote from a big box store for nearly $700 to frame this 48" x 30" canvas painting... with some spare time you can save yourself hundreds of dollars and learn how to make your canvas art pop!

In this video I frame a canvas painting (DIY abstract art) in the style of Jackson Pollock. Modern expressionist abstract art can be great to experiment with since some of the techniques aren't all that difficult (drizzle paint / drip paint).

For the frame you will need the following materials:

1" x 2" (nominal) wood in the appropriate length (see the video)
#8 x 1.75" wood screws
wood filler
paint/stain (optional)
sandpaper
flat L brackets
corner L brackets (optional)

In terms of tools you will need:

Saw (anything that you can cut nice square cuts)
Drill with drill bits
Paint brush
Measuring tape
Square/clamps (optional)
