Before we even start this.. I just want y’all to know this was a 40 min video at first. Hahahaha we had a good time filming this. I want to send a huge thank you to my boyz for being brave and jumping on with no questions. I truly apologize for jumping in & cutting you guys off when u were speaking. I’ve tried super hard to shorten this video as much as possible. I want my YouTube videos to get directly to the point to give the people what they want and need to get started. just a FYi

In this video I chop it up with my shipmates asking them questions on their personal experience getting started as Merchant Seafarers without attending the apprenticeship program. This video is beneficial for a lot of people I come into contact with that’s interested but don’t have the time for the school.

Yes it’s possible!! You might even have to wait longer for a job but it will happen for you. So have patience my friends if you’re 100 percent sure this is the road you want to take.

Me personally I highly recommend the school from my own personal experience of walking into the hall and landing a job much quicker than a sailor coming off the streets (no solid training) . As a SA I landed my second ship as soon as I got into the hall while the next man was waiting 3 months to get the same position. He wasn’t the happiest but this can happen to you at any given time when the next person has seniority over you. The bills are coming in I don’t have time to wait up to 3 months , that won’t fly this way. Sorry bro
