How a Good Vet Handles a Bad Cat

Follow

And not that Shorty is a bad cat per se, but she really is a problem cat at the vet's. With previous vets, she was always taken "to the back" to be handled by who knows how many people in who knows what kind of way. In her Queenly manner, she does not like anyone to touch her without express permission. In fact, this is the second visit in a week because the first visit the vet thought she seemed too stressed to perform the exam. So she first sent me home with Gabapentin, a safe antipain and seizure medication that is also given to help calm cats who experience anxiety at the vet.

Many of you know that last year I took Shorty to the vet for unexplained fur loss. I had posted a little comical compilation but I keep getting questions about it on videos from around that time when her fur looked terrible so I figured I would release the full video that I had previously released for Patreon and YouTube members. I hope this clears up the questions around it, and also highlights how a great veterinarian can handle a problem cat.

It's a long video, but I thought I would upload as much as I could to show you the whole proceedings. I love this vet! She wasn't stressed or scared at all, and remained good humoured throughout. That really helped us feel better too. I think she handled Sho perfectly.

But phew, I am glad that is over and that she has a clean bill of health! And check out Kokobean at the end. He seems concerned or perplexed doesn't he. Aw, my little kitties.

That's it everyone! Peace and purrs out!
