Douglas Talks about why it's so important to honor your parents, your very life may depend on it! The fifth commandment says, “Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the Lord your God is giving you."

Douglas' little brother has a hard time following instructions the first time, he usually has to to see what will happen before he obeys his parents. Which is a BAD idea. Because he didn't follow his dad's instructions while camping, Douglas' brother Stephen has been bit by a chipmunk (which meant he needed to also get a rabies shot) and also melted his shoes, and that's just what happened to Stephen! He also lit Douglas' pants on fire and nearly hooked Douglas in the face with a fishing hook. All because he wouldn't listen the first time.The fifth commandment is the first commandment with a promise. It says to honor your father and mother, so that you may live a long life, and that it will go well with you. Which basically means that if you obey your parents, you're more likely to live and long (and happy) life. God has put responsible adults in your life to help guide you and show you the way. Let's all follow the fifth commandment and listen to our parents, the first time!
