Part 1 of our first time extracting honey!

The time has finally come to extract honey from our two hives, and we're super excited.

The first batch included 19 medium frames from two supers full of spring honey. To prepare for the extraction, we used "bee escapes" to allow worker bees to leave the honey supers but prevent them from getting back into them.

After about two days, the honey supers were almost empty, making the harvest pretty straightforward.
