Hundreds of hats fill the New Life Church in Lynnwood every month, telling you which war, which branch of service, the person wearing it served in.

After socializing over coffee, they all stand and salute as they recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Their hands come down for just a moment, before going back up to salute, while they sing the National Anthem.

It’s a moving, even tearful moment, watching these men and women of various ages, backgrounds, and experiences come together in this fierce show of patriotism.
