John 5:30, (ESV) I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.

Mark 4:2325, 23 If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.” 24 And he said to them, “Pay attention to what you hear: with the measure you use, it will be measured to you, and still more will be added to you. 25 For to the one who has, more will be given, and from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.”

Jesus taught us there is no greater lesson to learn than hearing and responding to the voice of God. Throughout history God has spoken to people who are willing to listen. God continues to speak to people today; to people who are determined to listen. How we hear and respond will determine our destiny. Surprisingly, Jesus was the greatest listener of all time. He was determined to hear and heed His Father’s voice. He listened when times were good and when times were bad. He listened when He liked what He heard and when He didn’t. Jesus’ willingness to hear and obey the voice of the Father, led Him to the valley of death and out the other side. In fact, He has been where we are and knows the way. If we will heed His voice He will show us His way. Let us determine in our hearts to hear and respond to the voice of God.
