5 Healthy Habits For Anxiety & Stress

1. Breath Work Deep Breathing techniques can help when you're feeling stressed. I listen to my app almost daily for guided mediations, and breath work. It's been amazing. I love listening at night before falling asleep. You can also find breath work videos for free on YouTube.

2. Cold Water This was actually a recommendation from my dr. He recommended splashing very cold water onto my face if I'm feeling a panic attack coming. It can help boost your mood and reset your nervous system.

3. Grounding Nature is so healing, and physically touching the earth with our feet can help reduce stress and anxiety. Just being outside can increase the mood and relieve stress. I

4. Nutrition & Hydration In addition to healthy eating habits and plenty of hydration, I try to get my heart rate up to 60% of my max for 30 min 35 days a week. This makes a HUGE difference in my mood and overall stress levels. It's also makes a huge difference in my overall health. Drinking lots of water is hard for me, but I notice a distinct difference when I do. My tumbler helps me keep track of water intake. I try to eat a balanced diet, and focus on antioxidant rich foods, leafy greens, whole foods, and real food. We also try to grow food in our own garden to consume.

5. Rest Rest is crucial for our health. Sleep at night, and even small rests during the day. Our culture encourages the constant hustle, but it's also so important to slow down and set intentions. Setting a bedtime and sticking to it, along with a bedtime routine that encourages relaxation can really help a lot. Limiting screens and blue light before sleep can also help.
