Among some of the horror games that came out last year one of the most talked about was Happy's Humble Burger Farm. This game combined a lot of genres including survival horror with open world exploration and also a simulation of working at a fast food restaurant. Initially when I saw footage of the game I was not that impressed since I thought the fast food portion was the majority of the game. But after playing through it fully I was very pleasantly surprised of just how much this game has to offer. Especially the open city world and all the things you can explore had me blown away. It goes surprisingly deep with various things and recipies you can craft, many different items to collect that give bonuses and secrets and also a surprisgly deep lore and background story for this game and its characters. The working at the fast food portions were fun, but I was far more intrigued and engaged with the other elements of the game. Luckily you don't have to grind at the fast food restaurant too long and can complete the game with doing only around 5 shifts or so. There are some very cool twists and turns in the story where the world is not as it seems and some surprises actually caught me off guard. All in all I really enjoyed this game and hope to see a sequel someday that broadens the open world and exploration bits because that was what worked the best in my opinion. The fast food minigame is fun, but not being at the center was a good decision in my opinion.
