The Grumman Panther was a happy accident of aircraft procurement, which resulted in one of the most durable and effective aircraft of the Korean War. Although not the most sophisticated or high performance aircraft of its era, nonetheless, its combination of Grumman toughness, ease of maintenance and heavy armament makes it one of the best combat aircraft of the Cold War.
