Learn how to get Google API in this step by step guide to creating and getting Blogger OAuth API keys
The first step in getting your Blogger blog's OAuth API keys is to visit the Google Developers Console and sign in with your Google account. Once you've done that, go to the Credentials section and click on Create a new Client ID (have no idea what these terms mean? You might find the glossary helpful!). At this point, you'll be prompted to choose a product name. Currently, there's only one option: Other products.
To do that, let's take a look at an example of how you might fill out the form for that option. Let's say your blog's name is "My Blog" and you have no plans to create other blogs. The First Name should be "Blogger," the Second Name should be "Blogger API," and the Product name should be "Blogger." Note that you don't need to fill out any other fields—they're all optional!
Once you've filled out those three fields, click on Next step. On the next page, check the box next to "Enable implicit grant" and click on Save.
Next, choose your project name from the dropdown menu under Project Name and click on Create client ID. After that, you'll be shown a screen with your Client ID
We'll probably be needing the Blogger OAuth API, so we'll have to jump through some hoops to get them.
If you've ever used the Twitter or Facebook APIs on your blog, you know that it can be a bit of a pain to get started. You have to create an app and link it to your website, then go into the app's settings and get an API key that you'll need to use every time you want to access the service. If you want multiple keys for multiple services, that can mean dozens of keys to manage.
There are so many amazing tools out there you can use to make your blog better—but if setting up the right environment is too hard, then people won't bother. The new Blogger OAuth API keys are here to make things a lot easier by allowing thirdparty services to integrate seamlessly with Blogger.
The basic idea is simple: developers don't have to worry about creating apps or managing credentials; they just submit their tool's name and an icon, as well as what permissions they need from users, and then Blogger does the rest. Users can review which applications have access, change or revoke them at any time, and even revoke all apps or individual apps at once if something goes wrong.
The Blogger OAuth API keys are a great way to interact with one's blog without needing to know the username and password. It allows the blogger login to any computer and still have complete access to their blog. If you are a blogger, and you want to use this feature, you can obtain an OAuth key by following the steps shown in this video.
