We were about to launch the boat for a late afternoon of fishing, when this beautiful Eastern Kingsnake (Lampropeltis getula) made his presence known. Took a quick video, and a few photographs, and then sent him (or her) on it's way.
This is a good reminder, that not every black snake near the water is a water moccasin. Some of them are reptile royalty, just like this kingsnake.
Remember folks, Black Snakes Matter!
