Gardner 8L3B Marine Diesel Startup.
Diesel specialist Tom starts this Gardner engine on two cylinders, then brings the other 6 cylinders on with the decompression levers.

This 8L3B is engine number 226420.

At 24 litres the Gardner 8L3B is rated at 230 hp. However it is the amazing torque of these ever reliable engines which is sufficient to drive a small train or a substantial boat.

This Gardner engine is fitted with a Twin Disc 2:1 Reduction Gearbox.
