Several months after the Hydonic Heating install, we have put the full system to the test in our DIY Truck Camper. Being unprepared for freezing temperatures, the full water system was not fully freeze protected and now we show you what had to be completed. Can you say Leak? A leak that was a multiday and many hours of troubleshooting. Learn how it was finally solved.

Real Life has us taking advantage of the coolant heating system to stay warm BUT with a DIY truck camper, several water lines run outside the cabin. An emergency sent us out to Wyoming where we lived in single digit temps for a couple of weeks. Unprepared and we ended up for frozen water lines!

Improving our cold weather options with inexpensive heating source

Leverage the free engine coolant to heat water
Grow our hot water storage
Improve heat sources in our external bag boxes

This hydronic heating system contains a lot of automation to control heating from the engine coolant or our diesel heat exchangers.
