Foul medames | Egyptian fava beans recipe| Ful medames

Egyptian fava beans with tomatoes, cumin and olive oil with a touch of lemon juice.
Ingredients:
Canned fava beans1
Tomatoes2 ( finely chopped)
Onion1 small ( finely chopped)
Garlic1 tablespoon ( finely chopped)
Cumin powder1/2 1 teaspoon
Paprika/ chilli powder1 teaspoon
Pepper powder1/2 teaspoon
Olive oil2 tablespoon
Water1/2 cup
Lemon juice1 teaspoon.

topping: Olive oil, tomatoes, green chillies , parsley leaves.

Method:
1. Drain the fava beans.
2. Heat apan and add olive oil.
3. Sauté the onion until soft and add the garlic.
4. Add the spices and saute over low heat for 1 minute.
5. Add the tomatoes and cook over medium heat for 1 2 minutes.
6. Add the fava beans, salt and water.
7. Cover and cook over medium low heat for 810 mionutes.
8. Open the lid and mash the beans lightly.
9. Add the lemon juice and mix until combined.
10. Top with Olive oil, tomatoes, green chillies , parsley leaves.
11. Serve hot with pita bread.
