This video is a comparison between different brands of small stainless steel insulated food jars. An insulated food jar is designed to keep things hot for 6 to 12 hours, for people who want to bring something hot to eat at lunchtime after they heat it up in the morning. An insulated food jar can also keep things cold as well. There are many different sizes of stainless steel vacuum insulated food jar available, and generally speaking, the bigger ones are more efficient than the smaller ones, but the smaller ones are perfect to fit in a lunchbox along with other food. For this reason, small to medium sized vacuum insulated food jars are very popular for people who like to eat soup or other hot foods at lunchtime. in this video, we look at food jars, made by Stanley, thermos, and Ozark Trail, the Walmart brand. These food jars are between 16 and 18 ounces, which is perfect for a can of chili or soup. I used a thermometer to measure the temperature loss of food in these food jars over the span of eight hours. When you are choosing a food jar to bring hot food to lunch with you, you need to consider how well it retains heat, but also how pleasant it is to eat out of. In this video, we look at a Thermos food jar with a narrow mouth, and then the Ozark Trail food jar with the medium size mouth, and the Stanley Adventure To Go insulated food jar with a wide mouth. A narrow mouth food jar retains heat better, but it’s easier to eat out of a widemouth food jar with a spoon.
