I have a couple of these imported 12 VDC power supplies. They mostly work pretty well, but a recent change to the design has the fan running nonstop. That's irritating, and as it turns out unnecessary.

To fix it I'm adding back into the circuit the bimetal thermostatic switch that these supplies used to come with. It's a super easy mod and the parts are cheap:
