What's UP everyone!!? This is a video of my first session playing tug with my client's Belgian Malinois, Fiona!
Background! Fiona is almost one year old and actually came to The Dog Oasis last year and completed several puppy lessons with her owners! At this time she was around 1014 weeks old, I think! I do remember that at this age she was very reluctant to engage with me with her owners present. She would play tug a little bit for her owners but as soon as I wanted to play she went into avoidance and said 'SEE YA LATER!' Fast forward almost one year and she is back for a board and train! This is my very first session tugging with her! It may not look like much to some people, but knowing that not too long ago she didn't want to engage at all, this is very big progress for her. I recommend NEVER comparing your dog to someone else's dog! Every dog and owner has their own path that is unique to them!
