HANOI Come along and find the wonder in Hanoi as we explore the Old Quarter in a unique way. First we start on foot enjoying some Banh Mi and try and navigate crossing the roads along with 100's of mopeds and cars.

Next we meet up with one of Jonty's friends who takes us on a tour in an open top army car. With the roof down we could see the amazing buildings, try and work out how the traffic system works in safety and see a more rural side of the city on Banana Island.

A short drive down a dirt track and we were away from the beeps and the busyness and surrounded by trees with huge palm leaves and small farmland holdings. We ventured up onto a very important bridge with trains and mopeds crossing over the Red River.

Top of my list of things to see was Train Street. I was pleasantly surprised to find our dinner spot was right next to the track and we got to experience a train passing not once but twice as we had our dinner!

Our jeep dropped us off in time to catch a water puppet show. We all enjoyed this so much and were glad we made time to hear some traditional stories and music acted out by puppets that are in the water which shows life when the fields would be flooded.

After grabbing a night time snack we enjoyed taking everything in walking back to our air b'n'b.

Our first day was quite an experience for sure!
