The Financial Assistance Application Process Opened on July, 7, 2023, for USDA Farm Loan Borrowers Who Have Faced Discrimination

In this Federation Live! session hosted by, the Federation's Director of Land Retention & Advocacy, she updates our membership of Black farmers and landowners on the application process from the deadline, some eligibility requirements, and the technical assistance process.

The Federation of Southern Cooperatives/Land Assistance Fund stands in cooperation as a trusted communitybased organization cooperating with U.S. Department of Agriculture & 7 other cooperators offering technical assistance to farmers & landowners seeking Inflation Reduction Act Section 22007 financial assistance due to discrimination.

Section 22007 of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) provides $2.2 billion in financial assistance for farmers, ranchers, and forest landowners who experienced discrimination in USDA’s farm lending programs prior to January 1, 2021. Distribution of these funds is one step in the long march towards justice and an inclusive, equitable USDA. The program complements other assistance made possible through the IRA, including assistance for distressed borrowers.

We are committed to keeping farmers farming.
